Job Description

Ensure the timely fabrication of quality products to customer specifications

Lead a dedicated team through effective planning, training and communication

Based on the outskirts of Morrinsville

About the organisation

Everest People is proud to partner with Fab Direct Limited, a true success story here in the heart of the Waikato. Established five years ago, it has grown from strength to strength with its reputation for delivering high-quality services and products to the construction, food, and industrial processing businesses.

Based in Motumaoho, near Morrinsville. They operate a modern fabrication and engineering workshop that includes presses, guillotine, plate rollers, and more. Everything you’d expect for the successful delivery of your project, all done by an experienced, competent, and professional team of people.

For small and large projects, working in with existing site teams or taking the lead, their services are supported by design capability and professionally prepared quotations and project documentation.

About the role

This is a newly created position taking responsibility for the workshop, the team, and production schedule. It will also provide support to the Managing Director to manage projects and client relationships and create business growth.

Key duties and responsibilities include;

Lead and manage a dedicated team, providing training and coaching along the way to create a positive workplace culture

Plan and coordinate workshop schedules and activities to meet project timelines

Monitor job progress, costs and quality against estimates, ensuring any risks or concerns are raised at the earliest opportunity

Foster strong client relationships, maintaining effective communication and delivering exceptional project outcomes

Maintain plant, equipment and a clean, organised workshop with a focus on health & safety

Undertake critical hands‑on fabrication when required, preparing technical drawings and associated documentation

Support the Managing Director in preparing job pricing and quotes

Proven workshop management or supervisory experience with the willingness to share knowledge, train and support others

Effective communication and customer relationship skills to build trust and collaboration.

Sound understanding of job costing, workflow and production planning with the ability to adjust to changing priorities
