Job Summary – Taxi Dispatcher / Customer Service Representative
We are seeking a reliable and organized Taxi Dispatcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the main point of contact for customers, taking incoming calls, scheduling rides, and dispatching drivers efficiently. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and excellent attention to detail. The Taxi Dispatcher plays a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
Duties
Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally using a multi-line phone system
Take taxi reservations and accurately enter trip details into the dispatch system
Dispatch drivers efficiently based on location, availability, and priority of calls
Monitor driver activity and update trip status in real time
Communicate clearly with drivers regarding pick-ups, delays, and special instructions
Provide customers with estimated arrival times and respond to inquiries
Handle airport bookings, scheduled medical transports, and special service requests
Maintain accurate records of trips, payments, and customer information
Address customer concerns or complaints professionally and escalate when necessary
Coordinate with management regarding operational issues or service disruptions
Support daily administrative tasks related to dispatch operations
Requirements
Previous experience in dispatching, call center, customer service, or transportation is an asset
Strong multitasking ability in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Comfortable using computer systems and dispatch software
Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy
Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
Good knowledge of the local area and surrounding communities is preferred
Professional phone etiquette and strong interpersonal skills
Flexible availability (evenings, weekends, holidays may be required)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
