Job Description

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to join an Obstetrics and Gynaecology practice in Benowa. This is an important role, providing administrative and front office support to the specialist practice.

What you will be doing

Greeting and welcoming patients, providing excellent customer service.
Scheduling and managing patient appointments.
Answering phone and email queries.
Billing, receipting and processing Medicare rebates & EFTPOS.
Theatre procedure scheduling.
Ensure the smooth running of consulting sessions.
Liaise with patients, hospital staff & medical professionals in a courteous and professional manner.
Handling patient enquiries and booking medical tests and procedures.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and medical files.
Providing general administrative support.

Previous experience as a Medical Secretary, Receptionist or in a similar administrative role in a healthcare setting.
Experience with medical billings, private health funds and Medicare.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong organisational and multi-tasking abilities with close attention to detail.
Proficient in using Gentu software, or similar and Microsoft Office.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive patient information.
Ability to work within a small team environment.
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
Ability to work independently, show initiative and productivity.
Respectful boundaries amongst colleagues.
Full time/4 days per week Monday to Friday open to negotiation.
Desirable

Experience with Gentu medical practice software.
Experience in theatre list bookings.
Specialist practice experience, obstetrics and/or gynaecology practice experience favourable.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $29.00 – $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 38 per week

Experience:

medical admin : 2 years (Preferred)
Customer service: 2 years (Preferred)
Work Authorisation:

Australia (Preferred)
Work Location: In person
