About Us
Draught Sports is building Australia’s next major sports media brand. In a short period of time, we've built a following of over 250K engaged fans and receive tens of millions of views on our content each month.
The Role
We now want to grow the digital side of things and are looking for passionate sports writers who want to be part of it early.
This is a contributor role for people who live and breathe sport and want their work published to a growing national audience. You’ll have the freedom to pitch ideas, write in your own voice, and build a portfolio on a platform that’s scaling quickly across social and digital.
We’re not looking for traditional journalists.
We want fans who can write.
If you’re the type who’s always got takes in the group chat, runs a niche sports page, or wants a real pathway into sports media, this is for you.
What You’ll Do
Write articles across NRL, AFL, Cricket, UFC, Rugby and other sports
Pitch story ideas and react to breaking news
Create opinion pieces, features, lists, match reactions and culture content
Work remotely and publish at your own pace
Build a public portfolio with real readership
What You’ll Get
Direct feedback and mentoring from experienced media and sports operators
Access to players, personalities and on-site content opportunities
Opportunities to attend sporting events and club media days
Exposure to video production and editing workflows
Experience across digital media, content and production
A genuine pathway into paid roles as the brand continues to scale
