Job Description

South Taranaki is one of three districts that make up the Taranaki region. The South Taranaki District Council services approximately 29,900 people spread throughout seven towns and a number of smaller rural and coastal communities.

South Taranaki District Council manages ten water supply schemes, eight wastewater schemes and over 100 kilometres of stormwater assets. Around 71% of residents receive treated drinking water and 56% are connected to wastewater services. While the district has about 10,500 water connections, high agricultural and industrial demand means STDC supplies a volume of water equivalent to 40,000 average households.
