Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for a Deputy Head of Hall to join the Campus Operations Directorate at the University on a permanent, full-time basis in the Independent Living accommodation environment.

Key responsibilities:

Support the Tumuaki Taupuni - Head of Hall to run a 24/7 efficient, compliant, cost-effective service with a focus on pastoral care, engagement and connection.
Support the recruitment, training, development, and supervision of Community Advisers.
Ensure compliance with the University’s policies, procedures, and reporting obligations, those relating to health and safety and risk management.
Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will have:

An understanding of the duty of pastoral care.
Experience supporting student academic success and personal growth.
A tertiary qualification.
Experience in problem solving, budgeting and administration, event planning and conflict resolution.
Experience applying restorative justice principles.
Experience as a first responder for critical incidents and risk management experience in a welfare context would also be an advantage.
