Lab Technician

Full job description
Job Summary:

The Lab Technician is responsible for collecting samples, performing laboratory tests, maintaining lab equipment, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of diagnostic results as per medical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sample Collection & Handling

Collect blood, urine, and other samples following proper procedures.

Ensure correct labeling and documentation of samples.

Maintain hygiene and infection control standards.

Coordinate with patients for test preparation guidelines.

2. Laboratory Testing

Perform routine and specialized diagnostic tests.

Operate laboratory equipment such as centrifuge, hematology analyzer, biochemistry analyzer, etc.

Record and verify test results accurately.

Report abnormal findings to the concerned doctor/pathologist immediately.

3. Equipment Maintenance

Ensure proper cleaning and calibration of lab equipment.

Maintain stock of reagents and consumables.

Inform management about any equipment malfunction.

4. Documentation & Compliance

Maintain test records and lab registers.

Follow biomedical waste management protocols.

Ensure compliance with laboratory standards and safety guidelines.

Assist during audits and inspections.

5. Patient Care & Coordination

Provide clear instructions to patients regarding tests.

Maintain professionalism and patient confidentiality.

Coordinate with front office and billing department for smooth operations.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
