About the Gender Diversity Service:
Gender Diversity Service (GDS) is a specialist outpatient service that offers an affirming approach to support gender diverse young people and their families. GDS is the only specialist service in WA providing multi-disciplinary specialist assessment and access to gender affirming medical care for young people in WA.
The GDS also has a well-established Research program and works in partnership with The University of Western Australia and The Kids Institute.

About the Role:
We are seeking a Research Support Officer to join our team who reports to Clinical Nurse Manager - Research and has a role in supporting the lifecycle of clinical trials and research including ethics submissions, organising participant visits, data collection and study close out. Supports clinical trial and research activity in accordance with Good Clinical Practice and ethical principles including trial planning, coordination, and reporting. Additionally, you will:
Support clinical trial operations in line with Good Clinical Practice, including trial coordination, monitoring activities, and reporting requirements.
Prepare and assist with ethics submissions, including developing applications and supporting documentation for approval.
Manage communication and reporting with the CAHS Human Research Ethics Committee and other regulatory bodies.
Coordinate trial documentation and data collection, including SAE reporting, initiation meetings, monitoring visits, and other trial related duties.
Contribute to research dissemination by preparing abstracts, papers, and materials for publications and conference presentations.
Coordinate trial visits and appointments, respond to participant and trial related queries, and complete required documentation.
Support administrative and financial processes, including invoice authorisation, processing, and maintaining secure and efficient record keeping systems.
Promote governance, safety, and education, including engaging with participants and families, liaising with clinical teams, reporting findings to committees, and upholding CAHS and WA Health standards.
What you will Bring:
Experience in research or data collection environments, or similar settings involving structured information handling.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and a high standard of professional work presentation.
Demonstrated proficiency with databases and core Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Well developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with staff at all levels.
Ability to learn new skills quickly, adapt to changing requirements, and work efficiently within strict timelines.
Experience working with patients or clinical trial participants, along with skills in data extraction and a commitment to Equal Opportunity principles.
