Job Description

Not all heroes wear capes….some have an office, a computer and a mandate to serve the business community. Our organization, the 17th Avenue Business Improvement Area (BIA), is THAT hero creating safe, vibrant, and dynamic spaces while collaborating with businesses and stakeholders to build community through engagement and meaningful programming all while positively impacting economic development in our thriving and diverse corridor.

Here at the 17th Avenue BIA, we are in search of a digital marketing and communications hero that can engage with businesses and spearhead online and traditional initiatives that drive awareness, engagement, and commercial growth.

The Role

The hero we are currently looking for must have the perfect blend of traditional, old school marketing and communications skills (this means having conversations in-person and writing in proper, complete sentences without using emojis) and possessing 21st century online experience and fresh ideas (think fancy, fandangle initiatives that require technology, analytics and staying ahead of digital trends and themes).

This role acts as an internal agency and must be an expert in engagement strategies for a variety of audiences. Our would-be hero is an action-oriented strategist with superior written and communication skills that thrives being part of a small, dynamic, and fast-paced team that makes big things happen.

It is a dynamic role with 700+ stakeholders and many moving parts. Our hero needs a big personality that is driven by excellence, has a passion for small business and does not get overwhelmed when presented with competing priorities. We need an overachiever that is solutions-oriented, a natural relationship builder, a creative problem solver that can consistently deliver high-quality work on time and on budget with a smile.

The successful candidate is not a manager, specialist or coordinator, but rather a Swiss Army Knife that embodies versatility, adaptability, and dependability.
