Job Description

DIGITAL MARKETING & CREATIVE ASSISTANT

Hybrid (Remote/In-Person) – Downtown Toronto (minutes from OCAD University)

Part-time 15-20 hours/week (Freelance contract with possibility for more hours)

$25/hour

1. ABOUT THE BRAND

We’re Little River Co. – a Toronto-based fashion and e-commerce brand that designs original clothing and also collaborates on officially licensed collections with major anime studios and licensors. Our work blends storytelling and design into fashion.

2. ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re hiring a Digital Marketing & Creative Assistant to work directly with the founders as a creative and operational right-hand. This isn’t a typical assistant role. You’ll help transform raw content into polished brand assets while also supporting the technical and operational side of marketing and Shopify.

Think of this as a junior creative director meets marketing operator. You’ll help execute across content, ads, and backend brand operations so the founder can focus on scaling the business.

This role is for someone versatile and adaptable. You don’t need to know everything already – Shopify, Meta ads, or specific tools can be learned. What matters most is your creative eye, attention to visual detail, and willingness to learn. A strong aesthetic sense can’t be taught, and that’s what we value most.

Because this is a hybrid role located minutes from the OCAD campus, it’s a great fit for students or early-career creatives looking for flexible, part-time work while gaining hands-on experience inside a growing fashion brand.

3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1 Content Production & Creative Execution

Be comfortable being on camera/photo as you will have to create content of clothing/items
Transform raw footage and photos into polished Reels, TikToks, and static assets
Apply strong typography, layout, pacing, and visual storytelling
Maintain consistent brand aesthetic across social, ads, and campaigns
Prepare content files for posting using CapCut, Canva, or Adobe tools
3.2 Ad Operations & Campaign Support

Launch and do a very basic-level of monitor ads using Meta platforms
Check budgets, links, targeting, and creative uploads for accuracy
Coordinate creative assets for campaigns and ensure launches stay on schedule
Flag technical issues or performance problems early
3.3 Shopify & Brand Operations

Upload or update products, images, and collections in Shopify
Help troubleshoot storefront issues (links, product pages, updates)
Assist with customer inquiries or simple backend tasks when needed
Keep project tracking organized in Notion and support marketing workflow
3.4 Studio Collaboration

Attend some in-person studio days in downtown Toronto when work requires
Assist with filming, content capture, brainstorming, and campaign prep
Act as a consistent operational anchor as interns or projects rotate
4. WHO THIS ROLE IS FOR

You’re likely a strong fit if you:

Have a strong aesthetic eye and care about design details
Notice when typography, spacing, or visuals feel “off”
Are versatile and comfortable switching between creative and operational tasks
Are proactive and take ownership instead of waiting for step-by-step instructions
Are eager to learn new tools, systems, and workflows
This role is ideal for students or early-career creatives in art, design, fashion, or marketing who want real responsibility and exposure to how a brand actually runs.

5. REQUIRED

Experience creating visual or video content for social media
Familiarity with CapCut, Canva, or Adobe tools
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage tasks independently and meet deadlines
6. NICE TO HAVE (NOT REQUIRED)

Shopify experience
Meta ads or digital marketing experience
Photography or video editing background
Fashion, lifestyle, or brand marketing interest
If you don’t have all of these skills but are adaptable and willing to learn quickly, we still encourage you to apply.

Please include:
