Material Handler

Our Blue Streak-Hygrade Motor Products division allows SMP to lead the way in the Canadian automotive aftermarket where we supply the highest quality engine management and temperature control product for domestic and import vehicles. We have marketed our lines in Canada under the Blue Streak name since the late 1940s.

Job Purpose:

Position is responsible for material handling activities associated with capabilities of order picker or reach truck equipment for pulling sales order product, inventory put away or pick replenishment as directed by the operator instructions at a fast pace without sacrificing quality or safety.

Responsibilities:

Perform all duties and responsibilities of Shipping Distribution Operator 1 (puller) and Shipping Distribution Operator 2 (order picker) as required by supervision.
Read and follow operator instructions (Label requirements/packet and SOPs)
Pull Missing Parts (Zone 199) using RF gun as assigned by supervision and drop off pull product with appropriate sales order.
Using an RF gun, put away finished good inventory into the designated product pick or empty location using directed put-away program as directed by supervision.
Perform pick replenishment using the directed replenishment program on RF gun as directed by supervision.
Apply labels as required by product brand requirements
Review parts for damage and set aside non-conforming product as directed by supervision & SOPs
Relocate any out of place product to appropriate location
Follow all safety rules and guidelines
Follow workplace organization and housekeeping guidelines
Performs other work-related duties as required
Other duties assigned by manger
Education and Experience:

1-2 years relevant work experience required
Operate material handling equipment – counter balance, reach, forklift, order picker
Experience working in warehouse / distribution center is an asset
Experience working with RF Scanner/ JDE/ WMS is an asset
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
