As part of the ‘Trade Finance Squad’ in the Commodities, Trade & Carbon (CTC) crew we work with CBA's domestic and international trade and supply chain finance customers. Here, we are providing specialist trade products and services to our Business and Institutional Banking customers. Our purpose is to provide leading digital experiences through safe, stable, scalable, and resilient platforms.

Are confident working within a cross-functional squad responsible for the technical design, development, and rollout of CTC customer experiences

An interest for creating transformative digital experiences that serve a diverse customer base

Solid hands-on experience working across both backend and frontend development ensuring performance, scalability, and security

Strong communication skills and the ability to engage across technical and business teams with a collaborative mindset

A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous learning

Pride themselves on applying modern coding standards to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions that address core business needs and reduce risk

Are confident developing efficient Data Lake frameworks using Scala, PySpark, or Python, with robust data quality and security controls

Are knowledgeable creating reusable libraries and config-driven pipelines for enterprise-wide ingestion and integration

Tech Skills

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team:

Solid experience in Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development

Frontend frameworks such as React or Angular

Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and responsive design

Demonstrable in Python, SQL, Spark, and Scala for distributed data processing.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or similar tools

DevSecOps practices and automated testing frameworks (e.g. JUnit, Cypress, Selenium)

Experience with AWS services including S3, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, and CloudWatch

Experience with containerisation and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes

Understanding of authentication protocols (OAuth2, JWT) and API security

Experience with design systems, accessibility standards, and performance optimisation
