Job Title: Economics Tutor

Academy One is a leading tutoring agency in Sydney, providing personalized academic programs to students in grades 7-12. We are seeking an experienced Economics tutor to join our team of dedicated professionals.

Responsibilities:

Delivering high-quality High School Economics tutoring to students in grades 11-12
Creating personalized learning plans based on each student's needs and learning style
Providing comprehensive support in various aspects of Economics
Fostering critical thinking and innovative problem-solving skills in students
Monitoring student progress and adjusting teaching methods accordingly
Maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment
Communicating with parents to provide progress reports and feedback
Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of tutoring experience in NSW Stage 6 Economics.
Demonstrated experience preparing students for the NSW HSC Economics examination.
Strong understanding of the NSW NESA Economics syllabus, including:
Microeconomics
Macroeconomics
Global Economy
Economic Policies and Management
Proven ability to teach:
Extended response writing (20-mark essays)
Data response and stimulus-based questions
Economic models, diagrams, and real-world application
Ability to develop structured essay frameworks aligned with HSC marking criteria.
Experience improving student performance to Band 5 and Band 6 levels.
Strong communication and classroom management skills.
Ability to provide detailed written feedback aligned with NESA marking standards.
Highly Preferred

Experience as a High School Economics Teacher in a NSW secondary school.
Familiarity with internal assessment task design and marking.
Experience marking HSC-style trial papers.
Access to up-to-date economic statistics and ability to integrate current economic data into lessons.
Track record of students achieving Band 6 or state ranking results.
Academic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Commerce, or a related field (minimum).
Teaching qualification (preferred).
Strong HSC result in Economics (Band 6 or equivalent high academic achievement preferred).
