Coding coach/STEM Tutor

Looking for an enthusiastic coding coach with strong teaching background! Full training provided. A great entry point to start your education/technology career!

Suitable for: Computer Science / Information Technology undergraduates / Part time teachers

We're looking for a casual Coding Coach to assist us with after-school classes & chool holiday camps.

The Skill Samurai Learning coach is responsible for:

Ability to manage a group of young children (ages 6-16).
Communicate effectively with students, parents and other team members.
Be able to explain coding concepts (eg. Scratch, Python, Javascript, Lua) effectively. Lesson Plans and training provided.
Understanding and executing procedures of the Skill Samurai franchise (e.g. opening, closing and learning centre presentation).
Preparation of classroom before lessons.
Delivering a high standard of care and education to all students.
Attend paid staff meetings and professional development (training).
Note: You may to have to deliver classes at a few schools around Lane Cove & Gladesville surrounds. Having a car is a bonus

Characteristics and qualifications:

A background in Coding, ideally block coding, java, python (No tertiary qualifications required).
Experience in, or a keen interest in coaching and teaching children is essential.
Ability to connect and communicate with parents on their child’s learning.
Accept direction, supervision and constructive criticism.
Ability to possess a high degree of professionalism (Appearance, dress, communication).
Ability to establish effective relationships with parents and children.
Have an understanding of computer science and the curriculum.
Able to multi-task.
Working with Children Check required.
Hourly Rate: Misc. Award MA000104
Above award rates offered to high performing candidates.

Hours of Operation (as a guide):

School Holiday Hours Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm

After School Classes:

Monday - Friday 3pm - 8pm

Saturdays: 8:30am - 2pm
