RCC is seeking an Events Assistant to support our national events portfolio. This hybrid role will work both remotely and from our Toronto head office and reports to the Manager, Events. This is a part-time, four (4) month contract from March to July 2026. This posting is for an existing role that is currently vacant.
About the Role
The Events Assistant is an entry-level position designed for students or recent graduates interested in gaining hands-on experience in event coordination within a national non-profit organization.
This role provides administrative and logistical support across RCC’s events portfolio, including registration management, database coordination, website updates, and on-site event support. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Registration, Administration & Data Processing
Assist with all aspects of pre- and post-event registration processes (online and manual).
Verify and maintain accurate registration data within RCC’s database.
Confirm registration payments and ensure attendees are registered under the appropriate categories.
Support on-site registration logistics and event check-in processes.
Update event website content as required.
Provide administrative support for special event-related projects.
Perform other general administrative duties as needed.
WHAT YOU BRING
Education & Experience
Currently enrolled in or recently completed post-secondary education in Event Management, Business Administration, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks within tight timelines.
Flexibility to occasionally work evenings or weekends during peak event periods.
Assets
Interest in the retail industry or non-profit sector.
Experience with database entry, POS systems, or financial tracking.
Experience updating website content.
Customer service, sales, or outreach experience.
