About The Role
As the Movement and Place Team Leader, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight for the delivery of sustainable public domain, transport, and place-making outcomes. You will manage a team of technical specialists, including Public Domain Planners and Strategic Transport Planning Engineers, ensuring that all projects align with Council objectives, legislative requirements, and best practises.

Your role will involve developing and implementing public domain strategies, providing high-level strategic input into planning instruments, and fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. You will also be responsible for mentoring your team to deliver innovative solutions and ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines.

You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes experienced professionals with skillsets across place-making, sustainability, traffic and transport, urban design and planning.

Who We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced leader with a strong background in urban design and transport planning. You will be a big-picture thinker with experience in the delivery of strategic actions to support the implementation of Placemaking, Transport and Public Domain strategies.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

A degree in Planning, Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Urban Design, or a related discipline.
Extensive experience in strategic public domain and transport planning within local government.
Proven track record in leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams.
Strong knowledge of the EP&A Act 1979, Local Government Act, and related legislation.
Excellent report writing, presentation, and stakeholder negotiation skills.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes in complex projects. You will thrive in a collaborative environment and be passionate about sustainable urban development.

Package: Salary to be negotiated with the successful candidate; please indicate expectations with application.
Hours of work: Permanent Full Time. You will have the option of a 19 day month through Council’s flex system.
