We are seeking dynamic, high‑performing individuals to join our Digital Forensics Unit in Wellington. You’ll play an essential role in supporting investigations by uncovering and analysing digital evidence, helping our frontline and specialist teams bring clarity to complex situations.

Digital Forensic Technician

Digital Forensic Analyst

If you already have practical digital forensic experience, this may be the level for you. Analysts typically bring certifications such as IACIS CFCE or SANS GCFE

Analysts are expected to operate with greater independence, drawing on proven experience in digital forensic acquisition, analysis, and reporting.

Whakaritenga motuhake | Special requirements

Clean and current (full) Driver’s license
IT degree or work experience within an IT related field
Complete Certified Forensic Computer Examiner certification as part of the career structure
Be eligible to obtain a Secret National Security Clearance.

Security Clearance Requirements:

To be eligible for this role, you must obtain and maintain a SECRET national security clearance.
The minimum criteria for this level of national security clearance is:

NZ Citizen who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, or:
A Permanent Resident who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, or
A citizen of or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, or United States of America, and has a background that can be verified by the NZSIS.

Utu ā-tau | Salary

This position is covered by a collective agreement, and salary will commence between the below salary ranges dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.

Technician $80,295 - $83,973
Analyst $102,808 - $108,894
