Job Overview
The Dangerous Goods Packer will be responsible for safely and efficiently preparing, packaging, and labeling hazardous materials for transport per current IATA, IMDG, and TDG regulations. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety standards, verifying documentation, and conducting inspections for all packed goods. This is a full-time, on-site position, requiring close collaboration with team members and supervisors to maintain high safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Proficiency in packing, labeling, and handling of Dangerous Goods in accordance with IATA, IMDG, and TDG regulations
Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to conduct inspections to ensure compliance with standards
Attention to detail and organizational skills for accurate documentation and reporting
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Previous experience in logistics, warehousing, or transportation is an asset
Physical ability to lift and handle packages as required
Certification or training in Dangerous Goods handling is highly advantageous
Experience
Prior experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or construction environments preferred
Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, or load & unload machinery
Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order processing
Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques and safety procedures for operating heavy equipment
Proven ability to perform order picking accurately in a fast-paced setting
Construction or industrial experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided for specific equipment operation
Ability to work efficiently in physically demanding conditions while maintaining attention to detail - be able to lift 50LB regularly through the day
Certification or training in Dangerous Goods handling is highly advantageous
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 per week
