Job Description

At Centrapay, we're revolutionising how you spend money both in-store and online. We allow businesses to create digital assets and loyalty programmes so that you can spend and be rewarded anywhere. Some of our partners include Coca-Cola, BNZ, and Farmlands, and we process payments in New Zealand and Australia.

Our payments platform is the heartbeat of what we do. On top of this, we're building our hero app, Payap (www.payap.com), that brings all of our best capabilities to life.

About The Role

We’re looking for a technically sharp engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of code and customer. As a Junior Solutions Engineer, you’ll be hands-on with our APIs, helping external developers and partners integrate with our platform, building tooling to make that process smoother, and working closely with our Sales team to answer technical questions and support deals.

This is a great role for someone who loves writing code but also enjoys explaining technical concepts clearly, solving real integration problems, and seeing their work directly impact how partners and merchants connect with Centrapay.

What You'll Do

Build and maintain internal tooling that improves how integrators onboard and connect with our APIs
Provide hands-on technical support to developers and partners integrating with our platform
Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, working directly with external engineering teams
Support the Sales team by answering technical questions and joining customer conversations
Contribute to technical documentation that helps integrators self-serve more effectively
Gather and relay developer feedback to our Engineering and Product teams to improve the platform
Help evaluate and demonstrate our platform capabilities to prospective partners

Requirements

Who we're looking for

1–2 years of software engineering experience, ideally with some exposure to API integration or building on top of third-party platforms
Comfortable writing and debugging code in Node.js (Vue experience is a bonus)
Strong communicator who can translate technical concepts for both developer and non-developer audiences
A natural problem-solver who enjoys digging into issues and finding clean solutions
Someone who takes ownership, is comfortable working with external stakeholders, and cares about the developer experience
Why Join Us?

Be part of a fast-growing fintech shaping the future of payments
Work with a team that values innovation, collaboration and ambition
Competitive compensation, growth opportunities, and a chance to make a real impact
