Position Overview

As a crucial member of our Live Broadcast Engineering team, you will specialize in providing essential support across Netflix's infrastructure, focusing on Live Ingest Points of Presence (LiPoP) and the Broadcast Operations Center (BOC). Your role is vital in ensuring the seamless operation of our live resources for a growing roster of live events, assisting with both recurring series and standalone presentations.

Key Responsibilities
• Serve as Tier 1 support for technical issues during live events, including operations on show days and test days at LiPoP and BOC facilities.
• Provide frontline support for critical LiPoP infrastructure and broadcast equipment, including:
• Video routers and routing systems
• Audio mixers
• Encoders for contribution and distribution
• Video converters
• Manage intercom systems, configuring and allocating resources based on daily event requirements.
• Perform validation orchestration for daily events to ensure signal paths and readiness prior to broadcast.
• Troubleshoot, triage, and make technical decisions collaboratively with Live Streaming Technology and Broadcast Operations teams.
• Support both cloud-based and hardware video infrastructure, focusing on analysis and resolution of end-to-end video workflow issues.
• Develop and maintain documentation for live systems, operational runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
• Oversee the setup of control rooms for shows, ensuring all systems are functional, configured properly, and monitored.
• Maintain and support physical facilities tied to LiPoP and BOC operations.
• Help manage technical resources for daily shows, balancing capacity across multiple events.
• Conduct operational maintenance on broadcast infrastructure during off-hours or scheduled maintenance windows.
• Troubleshoot network issues within BOC and LiPoP, escalating to network engineering as necessary.
