Are you a Data Product Architect with hands-on experience in Purview and Azure data platforms?
Seeking a top-notch communicator with a strong background in delivering data products
Fixed-term position (9 months), based in Wellington with hybrid work options available
If you are a natural problem solver with experience developing Data Products and data infrastructure, we want to talk to you. We have exciting plans designed to modernise our legacy platforms and deliver transformative digital technology for the people in our care and our staff.

Mo te tunga | About the role

We are looking for a Data Product Architect to join our Digital Architecture team at Ara Poutama Aotearoa. Ara Poutama Aotearoa is focused on caring for, and about, people, and you'll find a direct connection between the work you do and our organisational strategic goals.

We are looking for the skills and experience to develop the concept and high-level design of Data Products for our Offender Management systems. You will be responsible for leading the design and providing thought leadership to ensure Data Products follow standard patterns and encapsulate best practice in modelling, security, privacy, and data governance.

This is an exciting piece of work for an experienced data architect who is technical but can take non-technical stakeholders on the journey too. The outcome we are envisioning is a design that will enable Data Products to be consumed in many different ways and support the Department's goals in providing data resilience, and re-usable datasets and data logic.

Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experience

To do this role you'll need experience in:

Designing and implementing technical data products from model specifications.
Implementation of M365 Purview, (Data Catalogue and Data Governance) and Azure Data Infrastructure services.
Strong grounding in security, privacy, and identity.
Alignment with catastrophic recovery and future migration needs.
Scoping, Roadmaps, dependencies, and cost analysis for establishing data products.
Nga painga | The benefits

The midpoint of the salary range is $155,285 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $131,993 - $186,342 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
