Swim Instructor Job Description

Reporting To: Site Team Leader

Objective: To deliver a comprehensive programme of swimming lessons and other activities to Fulton Swim

School's recognized standards and values. Instruct participants in the pool and work closely with customers

to improve swimming ability at a range of ages and levels.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching:

Conduct swimming lessons for participants of mixed ages and abilities (from 3 months through
to adults).

Ensure lesson plans are followed and tailored to meet the needs of each class.
Class Management:

Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding participant progress and program
details

Maintain smooth and efficient delivery of the swimming lesson program.
Keep regular records of children’s achievements up to date.
Foster positive relationships with participants and their guardians.
Ensure adherence to all health and safety procedures.
Manage class flow to minimize downtime and ensure participant safety.
Performance Targets:

Achieve performance targets related to student retention and reviews.
Actively promote initiatives to improve membership sales and/or products.
Professionalism:

Arrive punctually, set up 15 minutes before and clean/tidy 15 minutes after each class.
Attend paid training and development sessions outside normal hours to maintain health and
safety competence and continuous professional development.

Complete online training modules and one-on-one sessions promptly.
Team Collaboration:

Contribute positively to the team environment.
Cover shifts as needed.
Maintain effective communication with the team, Site Manager, and Shift Supervisor.
