What is the opportunity?
As the Marketing Director, Avion Visa Portfolio, you will own the marketing strategy for RBC's flagship premium travel rewards portfolio. The successful candidate will be a strategic visionary and exceptional people leader who brings deep expertise in premium brand positioning, sophisticated strategic development, and the ability to craft compelling value propositions that resonate with affluent, travel-passionate clients.
What will you do?
Own and evolve the multi-year marketing strategy for the Avion Visa portfolio, defining the premium positioning, client segmentation approach, and value proposition that sets RBC's travel rewards experience apart in the marketplace
Build a test-and-learn culture that leverages premium customer insights and behavioral data to continuously support the portfolio strategy, and maintain Avion's competitive positioning in the premium travel space and creates best in class learnings and insights
Architect breakthrough marketing strategies that unlock untapped opportunities within the premium travel segment, from emerging affluent demographics to new experiential benefits that deepen client loyalty and brand affinity
Develop and inspire your team through coaching, mentorship, and individualized development plans that build marketing excellence and strategic thinking capabilities
Build a strong team culture that fosters inclusivity and belonging
Drive premium portfolio innovation by identifying white space opportunities, anticipating market shifts, and leading strategic initiatives that position Avion Visa as the definitive choice for travelers
Champion a premium brand experience across all touchpoints, ensuring every client interaction reflects the brand positioning of the Avion Visa cards shelf
Lead strategic planning and present compelling recommendations to senior leadership, using data-driven insights and market intelligence to secure investment in portfolio-defining initiatives
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
Extensive experience in marketing
Demonstrated experience managing complex stakeholder relationships within a matrixed organization
Strong leadership skills & passion for developing others
Strategic leader who excels at building long-term portfolio roadmaps, identifying market opportunities, and translating consumer insights into differentiated positioning strategies that elevate premium brand equity
Deadline-driven and results-oriented, strong interpersonal skills, and time management capabilities
Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment on strategic priorities
Strategic analytical capability to synthesize market data, competitive intelligence, and premium consumer insights into portfolio strategies that drive sustainable competitive advantage
Nice to have:
Depth of understanding of affluent consumer segments, travel rewards ecosystems, and strategic portfolio management
Experience in premium credit card marketing, luxury travel brands, or high-net-worth client segments would be a strong asset
