Job Description
Modern Mobility Partners, a full-service transportation planning firm founded in January 2018, is seeking a Senior Project Manager with a strong background in travel demand modeling, data analytics, and multimodal transportation planning. This position requires at least 10 years of relevant experience, including demonstrated project management expertise.
This is a high-visibility role supporting the delivery of a large, multi-year statewide on-call transportation contract. The Senior Project Manager will serve as Deputy Project Manager, working closely with the Project Manager and senior leadership to oversee day-to-day contract administration and technical delivery across a high volume of concurrent task orders, disciplines, and subconsultants. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in travel demand modeling and proven experience managing the complexity of large on-call contracts, balancing shifting priorities, and tight deadlines across a dynamic project portfolio.
Tasks may include, but are not limited to:
On-Call Contract & Task Order Management
• Serve as Deputy Project Manager on a large, multi-year statewide on-call transportation contract, supporting the Project Manager in coordinating across multiple concurrent task orders, disciplines, and subconsultants
• Monitor scopes, schedules, and budgets across the task orders, proactively identifying and resolving conflicts in resources, schedule, and scope
• Coordinate with subconsultants and internal staff to drive on-time, on-budget delivery across all active task orders
• Anticipate client needs and think proactively to identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and surface opportunities across the contract
Technical Leadership in Statewide Travel Demand Modeling
• Bring hands-on experience with statewide travel demand modeling, with the ability to oversee the full modeling process from development and calibration through validation and application
• Identify opportunities to improve statewide modeling processes, tools, and methodologies, drawing on prior experience to drive innovation and efficiency
• Proactively promote the incorporation of “big data” in model development, including calibration and validation
• Serve as a go-to resource for staff, clients, and teaming partners on statewide travel demand modeling strategy, methodology, and best practices
• Actively share knowledge and build internal modeling capacity by mentoring staff and transferring expertise in statewide travel demand modeling methods and tools
QA/QC
• Serve as the QA/QC lead for the contract, reviewing all technical deliverables, including modeling work products, analyses, reports, and presentations, for technical accuracy, clarity, and consistency with MMP's quality standards
• Conduct thorough QA/QC reviews on travel demand modeling outputs, providing detailed, actionable feedback to technical staff
• Establish and uphold QA/QC processes across the task order portfolio, ensuring consistency in approach and quality across disciplines and subconsultants
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of relevant experience in transportation planning or transportation engineering, including project management experience
• Bachelor's degree in City/Regional/Urban Planning or Transportation Engineering
• Demonstrated expertise in Cube travel demand modeling software; proficiency in TransCAD or other equivalent platforms is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree in City/Regional/Urban Planning or Transportation Engineering
• AICP or PE certification
• Experience with Deltek Ajera or comparable project management software
