Role Summary
The Maintenance Technician ensures the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of all bakery production equipment. The role requires a strong background in electrical maintenance, hands‑on experience with cooling systems (blast freezers, cold rooms, chillers), and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues in a fast‑paced food‑production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance — Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical panels, motors, sensors, PLC‑controlled equipment, ovens, mixers, conveyors, and packaging machines.
Cooling Systems Management — Perform routine checks, troubleshooting, and repairs on blast freezers, cold rooms, refrigeration units, and cooling coils to ensure stable temperature control.
Preventive Maintenance — Execute scheduled maintenance plans to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Breakdown Response — Respond quickly to equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Calibration & Safety Checks — Ensure all electrical and cooling systems comply with safety standards and food‑industry regulations.
Documentation — Maintain accurate logs of repairs, parts usage, and maintenance activities.
Coordination — Work closely with production supervisors to plan maintenance without disrupting bakery operations.
Vendor Interaction — Coordinate with external service providers for specialized repairs or equipment upgrades.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Diploma/ITI in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Maintenance (or equivalent).
Minimum 1–3 years of experience in industrial maintenance; bakery or food‑processing experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, control panels, VFDs, motors, and sensors.
Hands‑on experience with blast freezers, cold rooms, refrigeration cycles, compressors, and evaporators.
Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and equipment manuals.
Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems and safety protocols.
Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Preferred Attributes
Experience with PLC troubleshooting (basic level).
Understanding of hygiene and food‑safety standards.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Willingness to work in shifts when required.
