Job Description

Job title: Senior Safety & Reliability Engineer

Location: North Hollywood, CA

Duration: 6+ Months | Pay: $65–$70/hr W2

Schedule: A-shift

This role serves as the embedded senior program safety engineer, partnering with Engineering, Test Operations, Facilities, and EHS to identify hazards, reduce operational risk, and ensure safe execution of aerospace hardware development and testing.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead program safety efforts through design, build, commissioning, and test phases.
• Implement safety and EHS programs: industrial hygiene, fall protection, confined space, LOTO, process safety, chemical safety, waste handling, and environmental compliance.
• Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, mitigation planning, and closure.
• Support design reviews, test readiness reviews, incident investigations, and emergency response.
• Provide safety expertise for flight and non-flight hardware, exotic materials, and non-routine processes.
• Prepare technical reports, risk assessments, onboarding training, and safety documentation.
• Coordinate closely with corporate EHS to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Perform audits, MOC reviews, non-routine process approvals, and operational readiness checks.

Preferred Experience
• 15+ years in safety, EHS, process safety, system safety, or reliability engineering.
• 7+ years in aerospace, R&D, manufacturing, or high-risk test environments.
• Experience with high-temperature systems, high-power electrical, vacuum, hazardous chemicals, compressed gases, stored energy, and exotic materials.
• Strong emergency response and incident coordination expertise.
• Certifications: ASP, CSP, CIH, CHMM (preferred).
• Knowledge of NFPA 101, MOC, test readiness, corrective actions, and construction safety.
• Advanced technical degree preferred.
