API Automation Tester

Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly motivated API Automation Tester with strong experience in both automation and functional testing. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in test automation frameworks, a deep understanding of QA methodologies, and the ability to work collaboratively in an Agile environment. This role requires a proactive individual who takes ownership of quality and drives issues to resolution.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and execute automated and manual test cases to ensure product quality
Build and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts using modern tools and technologies
Perform functional, regression, and integration testing across multiple applications
Execute API testing and automation to validate backend services
Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and ensure quality standards
Identify, document, and track defects, risks, and issues, ensuring timely resolution
Manage and prioritize multiple testing efforts and releases simultaneously
Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
Continuously improve QA processes, tools, and methodologies

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering / Software Testing
5+ years of experience in test automation or strong equivalent automation skills
Strong hands-on experience with automation tools such as:
Playwright, Selenium, Cypress
Proficiency in Java or JavaScript (mandatory)
Solid experience in functional testing methodologies
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with tools like JIRA or similar
Strong ability to manage multiple projects and testing cycles simultaneously
Experience with API testing tools such as:
Rest-Assured, Postman, SoapUI, SOAtest, or CA LISA (preferred)
Working knowledge of databases and SQL (ability to write and execute queries)
Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate bugs, risks, and test results

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience building or enhancing test automation frameworks from scratch
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Familiarity with performance or security testing is a plus

Salary/Rate: $15/HR (depends on experience level). This is a contract position with candidates expected to work 40 hours/ week.
