The Opportunity

Due to internal mobility, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a State Business Development Manager to join our Environmental Services team based in Rocklea. You will be responsible for managing business development activity across Brisbane, with a particular focus on short term projects, events, festivals and temporary services. You will set the strategy on chosen target markets, define our points of difference and achieve new business growth targets by securing contracts for Veolia.

What you'll be responsible for

Develop a comprehensive sales pipeline across a range of industry verticals, with a strong emphasis on short term projects, events, festivals and temporary service opportunities

Build and maintain relationships with event organisers, festival promoters, project managers and other key stakeholders operating in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments

Align to and develop our internal tender processes, including legal, commercial, and financial reviews

Deliver profitable revenue and volume growth, improving the market position for Veolia through securing work as a result of developing and fostering business networks and relationships

Network selected industry associations, build high-end relationships and support community engagement across Brisbane

What you'll need to be successful

Solid commercial acumen and experience in negotiating on terms and conditions in service contracts

4-5 years experience in a major accounts or business development role required

Waste industry experience desired but not essential

Resilience and the ability to work through and manage change

Strong reasoning abilities, including defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions
