We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team. in the Bay of Plenty Region. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations.
Full-time position , minimum 30- 40 hours a week
Pay rate $29.66 to $32-00
No work exp or no formal qualifcation reuired
Driving License of class 5 required
Duties Job Duties – Class 5 Truck Driver
Safely operate Class 5 heavy combination vehicles including truck and trailer units to transport produce, bins, pallets, packaging materials, machinery, and horticultural goods between orchards, cool stores, packhouses, and distribution centres.
Collect harvested fruit and produce from orchards and deliver to packhouses or storage facilities within required timeframes.
Transport empty bins, pallets, fertiliser, orchard supplies, irrigation materials, and operational equipment to orchard sites.
Secure loads correctly using approved restraint methods and ensure compliance with New Zealand road transport and health & safety regulations.
Conduct daily pre-start and post-trip vehicle inspections including tyres, brakes, lights, oil, coolant, trailer couplings, hydraulics, and safety equipment.
Complete logbooks, electronic run sheets, delivery dockets, fuel records, and other transport documentation accurately.
Plan and follow efficient delivery routes while meeting dispatch schedules and orchard operational deadlines.
Assist with loading and unloading where required using pallet jacks, tail lifts, or coordinating with forklift staff.
Reverse and manoeuvre heavy vehicles safely in orchards, packhouses, loading bays, and confined rural access areas.
Report vehicle faults, accidents, delays, road hazards, or maintenance needs promptly to management.
Maintain cleanliness and presentation of truck, trailer, and transport equipment.
Work closely with orchard managers, packhouse teams, and logistics staff to support peak harvest and seasonal operations.
Comply with biosecurity, food safety, and produce handling standards when transporting horticultural products.
Be available for early starts, weekend work, and extended hours during harvest and peak production periods.
