Inpatient Receptionist
Permanent, part-time, 40 hours per week / 1 FTE
Monday to Sunday

We are seeking an experienced Receptionist to join our Inpatient Receptionist team at Health New Zealand.


This position is open exclusively to Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora staff only.

About the Role

As a successful Receptionist, you will be key in offering reception and administrative responsibilities to the team in a busy environment. The successful applicant must be methodical in approach, highly organised, flexible, and desire to be a supportive team member. They must also have excellent customer service skills.

Day to day you will welcome patients and visitors, answer the telephone and any inquiries, and liaise with the Medical Team. You will manage the data capturing of patient flow and assist patients with completing required forms and documentation. You will facilitate a clean and calm reception area in a busy environment.

About the Service

Inpatient Receptionists are committed to front desk operations in the wards, We are responsible for greeting, admitting, discharging, managing patient transfer and patient records. We ensure the smooth running of the reception area, and we provide essential support to healthcare staff. Our success is driven by the care of patients and their whānau.


About you

Skills and experience you will need to be considered for the role:

Excellent communication skills
Strong customer service focus
Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
Office skills, previous clerical, and hospital experience
Excellent time management and organisational skills
