Summary:

The Medical Records Clerk will process incoming and outgoing mail and packages, respond to inquiries and requests for information, and be knowledgeable about departmental and university policies and procedures.

In this Department, the candidate will be supporting 15-20 pathologists, so it is a very fast-paced environment and candidates must be quick on their feet and able to change gears at any given moment.

Qualification:
• Candidate must have thick skin and be able to support multiple personalities.
• Candidate will support a library of tissue slides and will be responsible for retrieving them and putting them back.
• If they are familiar with tissue slides and/or have worked in a Pathology lab before and have strong administrative skills in MS Office and Excel, then they would have the skills to perform the role.
• Candidate might be required to run on foot between hospitals.
• The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Medical Terminology is a nice-to-have as it will allow them to be more successful in this role
• Role will be primarily filing patient slides/boards, and they must have a strong attention to detail and be extremely organized with filing confidential information.
