A mission-driven nonprofit is seeking a Full-Time Gifts and Constituent Information Specialist. The Gifts and Constituent Information Specialist is a key member of the Advancement Services team, responsible for processing and receipting all gifts to the organization. This is a Hybrid, 37hrs/week, Temporary to Permanent role based in Chicago, IL.
ORGANIZATION: Educational Nonprofit
LOCATION: Hybrid- Armour Square, IL
POSITION TITLE: Gifts and Constituent Information Specialist
SCHEDULE: 37 hours/week- 3 days on Site 8:30 pm - 4:30 pm
DURATION: Temporary to Permanent
Pay- $24/hr- $32/hr

This position applies industry and professional standards, university policies and procedures, and federal and state laws and regulations applicable to donations. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate gift records and documentation, ensuring the integrity of alumni and donor records, and serving as a point of contact for donor and faculty/staff inquiries on behalf of Gift Administration.
Our Ideal Candidate:
2+ years of experience in gift processing, development operations, or a related administrative/finance role in a nonprofit setting
Experience working with a fundraising CRM system (Raiser’s Edge or similar)
Strong understanding of gift processing, financial transactions, and record-keeping best practices
Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in data entry and reporting
Excellent customer service skills; experience interacting with donors or high-net-worth individuals preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and/or Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs)
Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Higher education or nonprofit experience
Knowledge of gift accounting/fundraising ethics
Experience with tools like Trello, Wrike, and Asana
Financial operations or cash handling experience
How You Will Spend Your Day:
Process and record all donations, including checks, credit cards, stock gifts, ACH transfers, and other forms of contributions
Generate and distribute timely and accurate gift acknowledgments and receipts
Maintain, organize, and archive all gift-related documentation in compliance with internal policies and audit standards
Respond to inquiries from donors, faculty, and internal staff regarding gift status, receipts, and donor records
Assist with the processing of complex gifts, including donor-advised funds (DAFs), matching gifts, and estate or planned gifts
Maintain and update donor and alumni records to ensure accuracy and completeness in the CRM system
Support ongoing data integrity efforts, including database cleanup and standardization projects
Assist with fiscal year-end close processes, audits, and reporting needs
Collaborate with development, finance, and advancement teams to ensure seamless gift processing and reconciliation
