Cable Electrician

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cable Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications and networking, with expertise in fiber splicing, network installation, and cabling. This role involves working in the field to install, maintain, and troubleshoot various telecommunication systems. A successful Cable Technician will demonstrate mechanical knowledge and proficiency with hand tools while ensuring high-quality service delivery to our clients.

This is a full-time W-2 employee position, offering a stable employment structure and the opportunity to be part of a professional and growing team.

Responsibilities
• Install, maintain, and repair telecommunication systems including fiber optic and copper cabling.
• Perform fiber splicing and ensure proper connections for optimal performance.
• Conduct network installations involving Cisco routers and Ethernet configurations.
• Troubleshoot issues related to computer networking and telephony systems.
• Utilize hand tools and testing equipment such as an ohmmeter to diagnose problems.
• Provide field service support to clients, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used during installations or repairs.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient project completion while adhering to safety standards.

Requirements
• Proven experience as a Service Technician in the telecommunications or networking field.
• Strong knowledge of cabling techniques and low voltage systems.
• Familiarity with mechanical principles related to installation and repair tasks.
• Proficient in using hand tools and testing equipment for electrical work.
• Experience with fiber splicing, network installation, Cisco routers, Ethernet, telephony, and computer networking is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently in a field service capacity while managing time effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
