Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Opportunities

Position Summary

- Seeking California-licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) to join as independent contractors.

Joining our team gives you access to ongoing opportunities within a supportive atmosphere. There are no up-front charges and no minimum number of required patients, so you can control your earnings and prioritize quality care for those you work with.

A dedicated team manages all administrative duties, including marketing, insurance processes, credentialing, billing, records management, routine support, audits, and compliance, so you can focus on clinical responsibilities.

Rula delivers a broad range of behavioral health services and works to improve access to mental health care statewide in California.

We help people connect with therapists and psychiatric professionals who accept insurance and are available for new patients.

Eligibility Criteria

- Active, unrestricted RN and DEA licenses in California
- At least one year of psychiatric nursing experience, including evaluating, diagnosing, triaging, managing medications, creating care plans, and handling crises
- Eligible for independent or collaborative physician practice in accordance with California law
- ANCC certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
- Enrollment in California’s Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP)
- No record of suspension or exclusion from Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP, or any federal healthcare program
- Clear record with licensing agencies, credentialing bodies, hospitals, and boards within the past three years
- Master’s or doctorate degree in psychiatric mental health from an accredited institution
- Comfortable providing care via telehealth

Compensation

- $110 for each 60-minute initial assessment
- $70 for each 30-minute follow-up visit
- $35 for each 90833 add-on billing code
- Direct deposit received twice each month, including compensation for late cancellations, no-shows, and unpaid claims

Main Duties

- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, prescribe and manage medications, and develop individual care plans for patients
- Work with adults who have depression, anxiety, trauma, or substance use issues
- Use an intuitive EHR and telehealth system to organize your calendar and documents
- Receive prompt support from our Care Coordination and Support teams
- Allocate 60 minutes for initial visits and 30 minutes for follow-ups, aligning with current clinical guidelines
- Concentrate on direct patient care, while our team manages administrative requirements
