Job Description
We’re looking for Research Assistants to join the Museum’s Audience and Impact Research (A&IR) team on a casual basis. This role will see you out in the Museum conducting short, face-to-face interviews with visitors that will help our A&IR team deliver their research and evaluation programme. The role typically involves working a few days per month, primarily onsite at Auckland Museum in Parnell.

You will bring with you:

Experience and confidence in approaching and speaking with members of the public.
The ability to engage with a wide variety of people.
Highly developed and effective oral and written communication.
Strong attention to detail.
Experience working independently with minimal supervision.
Experience and confidence using mobile technology to accurately record information.
The flexibility to work several days per month, ideally including weekend work.
An awareness of the Treaty of Waitangi and its principles.
Desired Skills and Experience
Also desirable for this role:

Experience undertaking market / social research interviews.
Experience using digital survey software.
An interest in museums / cultural heritage and / or social research.
Additional language skills – Te Reo / Samoan / Mandarin particularly advantageous.
