Join our dynamic dental team as an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant, where your expertise will elevate patient care and streamline clinical operations. Responsibilities
• Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring optimal patient comfort and safety.
• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, maintaining strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, accurately documenting findings in electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Manage patient check-in and check-out processes as a dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, updating medical records, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
• Measure vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse to assist in comprehensive patient assessments.
• Support four-handed dentistry practices by efficiently passing instruments and maintaining smooth workflow during procedures.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling medical documentation with care.
Skills
• Proficiency in EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques.
• Experience with dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners for accurate diagnostics.
• Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working effectively with children of all ages.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting confidently across various specialties such as prosthodontics and endodontics.
• Knowledge of medical coding and documentation procedures relevant to dental procedures and insurance claims.
• Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist to coordinate appointments, answer patient inquiries, and facilitate smooth clinic operations.
