Job Description
Inclusive Youth Provision is a youth project for 11 to 25 year olds with additional learning needs that runs during the school holidays. The provision aims to provide the members with the opportunity to take part in activities such as cooking, sports, arts, music and trips out with an emphasis on the members voices and opinions informing the activities.
Core duties:
● To support and offer encouragement so that members take part in trips and activities appropriate to their needs;
● Completing activity evaluations with youth members;
● Recording any Safeguarding concerns;
● Responsibility for security & safety of files and information;
● To work effectively as part of the staff & volunteer team and contribute to pre-brief and debrief sessions;
● Empathizing with and understanding the diverse needs and experiences of young people;
● To attend staff meetings and training events in the interests of further developing the provision;
● Assist with any other tasks, as requested by your line manager;
● Maintaining appropriate professional boundaries in all interactions with young people;
● Staying up-to-date on current research and best practices in youth work;
● Acting as a voice for young people, advocating for their needs, and providing support when needed;
● Administrative & other tasks as required by line management.
Qualification:
Youth Work Level 3 – Desirable
Safeguarding Training – Desirable
First Aid Training – Desirable
Up to date Enhanced DBS Certificate – Desirable
Experience:
Experience of working with young people – Necessary
Experience of delivering arts, sports or life-skills based
activities – Desirable
Experience of dealing with members of the public – Necessary
Experience of working with young people with ALN – Necessary
Skills:
Ability to manage their time and workload effectively – Necessary
Ability to communicate effectively with staff and
volunteers – Necessary
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer
programmes – Desirable
Willingness to take on additional training – Necessary
Ability to communicate effectively with other teams and
organisations – Necessary
Ability to work within policies and procedures – Necessary
(Interviews with suitable candidates will take place: Monday 11th May 3pm-7pmTuesday 12th May 3pm-7pmWednesday 2pm-5pmMonday 18th May 3pm-7pm.
Pay: £12.94 per hour
Work Location: In person
