Contract: Government

Location: Bristol, BS1 5AH

Hours of work: 40

Contract Type: Permanent

We are seeking a Facilities Assistant to support the day-to-day delivery of facilities services and provide a high-quality workplace experience for colleagues and visitors.

The role plays a key part in ensuring the workplace is safe, compliant, efficient, and welcoming, with a strong focus on customer service and operational support.

Job Description

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive, and customer-focused, with the ability to work within regulated environments and support compliance with health, safety, environmental, and security standards.

The successful candidate will contribute to smooth facilities operations and support the wider team through effective administration, coordination, and communication.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver front-of-house services, including welcoming visitors and ensuring security procedures are followed at all times
Provide facilities support services, including porterage, meeting room management, and managing the FM mailbox
Support day-to-day facilities operations to ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient workplace
Conduct inductions for new starters, including Health & Safety and environmental inductions
Log, facilitate, and oversee reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits
Ensure compliance with environmental, HSEQ, and legislative requirements, including fire safety and first aid
Complete and support compliance documentation and audits, including traffic management plans, fire risk assessments, water hygiene arrangements, security, and cleaning audits
Support the delivery of low to medium risk projects and provide general administrative support to the facilities team

Capable of meeting deadlines and targets in a regulated environment
Understands business needs and service delivery requirements

Communicates effectively across a range of channels and works collaboratively with others
