Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Architectural Technologist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will support the design and construction processes across residential and commercial projects, utilizing advanced drafting and modeling tools. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative architectural solutions while developing your expertise in project management and client collaboration. The Architect will play a key role in translating conceptual designs into precise technical drawings and schematics, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed architectural drawings, schematics, and blueprints using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Chief Architect and Civil 3D.
Create 3D models and visualizations with SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign to support project presentations.
Prepare construction documents for residential and commercial projects, including schematics, plans, sections, and elevations.
Review and interpret blueprints, technical specifications, and building codes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to facilitate smooth project workflows.
Assist in project management tasks such as scheduling using Microsoft Project and organizing documentation via Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Conduct analysis of design options considering structural integrity, sustainability, and cost efficiency.
Support site visits by reviewing construction progress against plans and resolving drafting or schematic issues promptly.
Maintain organized digital files of drawings and project documentation for easy access and version control.
Contribute to continuous improvement of drafting standards and techniques within the team.
Qualifications

Proven experience with CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Civil 3D, NavisWorks, Schematics tools, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, construction methods in residential and commercial sectors.
Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Project, Outlook; familiarity with Microsoft Teams is a plus.
Bilingual abilities in English; French language skills are considered an asset.
Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication skills for presenting ideas clearly to clients and team members.
Analytical skills combined with attention to detail for accurate drafting and problem-solving during design development.
Knowledge of construction processes including schematics development and manufacturing considerations is preferred.
Organizational skills necessary for maintaining detailed records of project revisions and correspondence.
Educational background in architecture or civil engineering is preferred; relevant internships or professional experience will be considered favorably.
