Job Description

V.K.A Electronics Pvt Ltd, Auckland is looking for ICT Technician!We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable ICT Technician to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a professional who combines strong technical expertise with problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality support.

Minimum hours of work - 30/hrs per week

Pay Rate - $30.00 - $36 per hour (Depends on knowledge, skills and experience)

Main job responsibilities include:

Diagnose faults and technical issues in mobile phones and related telecommunications devices, including smartphones, tablets, and communication equipment
Repair and replace faulty components, such as screens, batteries, charging ports, cameras, microphones, and internal circuitry
Install, configure, and test telecommunications devices, ensuring proper functionality of voice, data, and connectivity features
Perform software troubleshooting, including operating system updates, firmware installation, data recovery, and removal of malware or system errors
Test and calibrate devices following repairs to ensure compliance with manufacturer and operational standards
Maintain and repair communication-related hardware, including SIM connectivity, network signal issues, and wireless communication faults
Provide technical support and advice to customers, explaining faults, repair processes, and maintenance recommendations
Maintain accurate service records, including diagnostics, repairs performed, parts used, and customer details
Manage inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring availability of components required for repairs
Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, including safe handling of electronic components and tools
Stay updated with new telecommunications technologies, mobile device models, and repair techniques
Liaise with suppliers and service providers for parts procurement and technical support where required
Conduct quality checks to ensure all repaired devices meet required performance and reliability standards
The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:

Relevant Level 4 qualification in Electronics and Telecommunication/Information Technology or any Bachelors can be considered Or
A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in retail sales in a similar industry or in a technical role can be considered as an alternative to formal qualifications.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good time management and ability to meet repair deadline
