Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk/Administrative Assistant to support our finance and administrative operations. This role is primarily focused on accounting and clerical financial tasks, with additional administrative responsibilities as needed. The ideal candidate is highly organized, accurate, and comfortable working with financial data in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Duties (Primary Focus):
Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice entry and tracking
Create and manage purchase orders
Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents
Assist with data entry for financial records and maintain accurate documentation
Reconcile statements and assist with basic account reconciliations
Maintain organized financial filing systems (digital and physical)
Assist with month-end tasks and reporting as required
Communicate with vendors regarding invoices and payment inquiries
Administrative Duties:
Perform general clerical duties (filing, scanning, photocopying)
Assist with correspondence, emails, and document management
Support other departments with administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma (Grade 12) required; post-secondary education in accounting or business is an asset
1–2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience preferred
Basic understanding of accounting principles (AP/AR, reconciliations)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Experience with accounting software is an asset
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle confidential financial information
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Strong written and verbal English skills
Experience (Preferred)
Accounting or bookkeeping: 1 year
Administrative experience: 1 year
Compensation & Benefits
Full-time position
Benefits available after 3-month probation period
2 weeks paid vacation annually
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.00 per week
Education:
Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:
Front desk: 1 year (preferred)
Administrative experience: 1 year (preferred)
