Department: Community Engagement
Salary: $15 per hour
Description:
This position is specifically for students accepted into the Community Engagement Internship Program. Students will be placed off-campus at non-profit organizations.
THIS IS AN OFF-CAMPUS POSITION.
DUTIES
The specific duties for each internship will vary by site. Please read the individual position descriptions on the job board carefully.
Community engagement interns will hold internship positions within a local non-profit in an area related to their academic major or specific interests.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to work cooperatively and in a leadership role
• Organizational skills
Qualifications
• Strong interest in community issues, engagement, and social justice
• Must be enrolled in classes at UHD during the spring and fall 2026 semesters
All positions at the University of Houston-System are security sensitive and will require a criminal history check.
