Job Description
Balmoral Hall School is an independent day and boarding school for girls aged 2 to Grade 12. The school welcomes students from around the world, encouraging them to discover their passions in academics, arts, and athletics. Balmoral Hall School inspires girls to excel, to reach, to lead and to care.
Balmoral Hall School responds to the unique needs of all students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. This part-time 0.50 FTE psychologist position will provide specialized psychological services and professional leadership to support student learning, mental health, and inclusive education with the main focus being middle and senior school. This position will collaborate with the Junior School counsellor.
SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST RESPONSIBILITIES
Support development and monitoring of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior support plans
Provide consultation to parents, students, and staff related to learning disorders, emotional/behavioral concerns, trauma, and mental health
Interpret assessment results and provide clear, actionable recommendations to families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams
Contribute to policy, procedures, and best practices related to the development of programs and mechanisms to support wellbeing, and mental health challenges.
Participate in crisis response and threat assessment protocols as required
Collaborate with community agencies, health services, and external partners
QUALIFICATIONS
Doctoral degree in School Psychology or Psychology (from an accredited institution)
Eligibility for registration (or current registration) with the Psychological Association of Manitoba (PAM)
Ability to conduct psychological and psychoeducational assessments for children and youth (K–12)
Eligibility for School Clinician certification through Manitoba Education and Training
Minimum 5 years of experience providing psychological services within a school or child/youth-focused setting
Demonstrated expertise in demonstrated experience and expertise in helping students, their families and staff to apply best practice in supporting and identifying students with challenges that interfere with learning.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills· Training or experience in trauma-informed practice, threat assessment, or MTSS
