Preschool Waldorf teacher

Overview

Our Bowen Island, BC community, overlooking the Salish Sea, (20 minute ferry to Vancouver) with seasonal whale sightings, raven and eagle nests, seeks a female early childhood Waldorf, or Waldorf-inspired teacher. The class size might be anywhere from three to five children in a home-based environment. We’re envisioning a place for children to come where they will be treated to the delights of childhood–their imaginative play, their need for security and grounding with a consistent maternal figure, their desire to explore new challenges, to create, to dream, and be both rested and enjoyably stimulated.Our home provides the opportunity for the teacher and children to safely explore the outdoors, with access to an outdoor play space, an eventual garden and orchard, where they might have their own gardening play, and to an indoor space that is pleasant, inviting and comfortable, one in which they can create in Waldorf-styled art projects, stories, movement, and snacks.

We have accommodation and could work out a trade with pay.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week

Work Location: In person
