Order Desk Representative

Northern Metalic Sales is part of a larger, diverse group of companies with interests in wholesale distribution, oilfield service and supply, lubricants distribution, safety supplies and field services, land and real estate development, rail construction and transload, and finance.

We are currently seeking a Order Desk Representative for our Prince George, BC location. This position plays a key role in supporting customers and Outside Sales Representatives while providing counter sales and order processing support.

Primary Duties

Assist Outside Sales Representatives with quoting, invoicing, pricing, and customer inquiries
Process customer orders via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions
Provide counter sales of industrial supplies
Source products from new and existing suppliers
Complete special-order forms, quotations, and invoices
Answer and direct incoming calls
Recommend products and solutions based on customer needs
Maintain accurate order, pricing, and customer records
Participate in paid on-call rotation
Required Skills & Abilities

Outstanding customer service skills with a strong customer-first mindset
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in order desk, inside sales, or counter sales environments, preferably in an MRO or Industrial Supply Environment
Ability to provide pricing terms and prepare quotations
Strong data entry and computer literacy skills
Effective problem-solving and organizational skills
Ability to build trusting relationships with retail and commercial customers
Some level of mechanical aptitude
Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods
Professional, enthusiastic, and team-oriented attitude
High school diploma
Valid driver’s license
Strong personal commitment to health and safety
