About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant with a minimum of five years’ experience in family law to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting counsel with all aspects of file management and client service in a busy family law practice. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This is primarily a work-from-home role, with attendance at the office required on an as-needed basis.
Key Responsibilities
Draft, prepare, and format documents, including court forms, affidavits, and correspondence
Manage and maintain client files
Coordinate court filings, deadlines, and service requirements
Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and court registries
Schedule appointments, mediations, and court appearances
Assist with trial and hearing preparation
Maintain accurate records, calendars, and bring-forward systems
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a legal assistant in family law
Strong knowledge of family law procedures and court rules
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with common legal software e.g., MS Office, Adobe, BC Registries Online, Clio (not necessary but preferred).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Vancouver, BC
