Job Description
Attention: This position requires relocation to Washington, DC.
We are actively seeking courageous, intelligent, and determined individuals to join the Secret Service as Presidential Security Officers. Incentive: Eligible applicants may receive a $75,000 recruitment incentive in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide protection for key locations, including The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in Washington, D.C.
• Travel to support missions for the President, Vice President, and foreign heads of state/government.
• Enforce protective duties as mandated under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.
Qualifications
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Possess a current valid U.S. driver's license.
• Age requirement: Must be at least 21 years old at the time of application and under 40 at the time of referral, with exceptions for those with prior federal law enforcement service.
• Must be able to carry and proficiently use a firearm.
• Uncorrected visual acuity must be no worse than 20/100 binocular, and corrected visual acuity should be 20/20 or better in each eye.
• Hearing loss must not exceed 25 decibels in either ear for specified frequency ranges, and applicants should hear a whispered voice from 15 feet away without assistance.
• Must pass a drug test prior to appointment and submit to random drug testing thereafter.
• Complete 12 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA or Artesia, NM, followed by 17 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD.
• If applicable, certify registration with the Selective Service System or be exempt if a male applicant born after December 31, 1959.
