Heavy Duty Mechanic

Overview
Wapiti Gravel is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman/Red Seal Mechanic to join our team in Grande Prairie, Alberta. We pride ourselves on our competitive wages, comprehensive benefit plans and pension matching.

What you'll do:

Perform maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including pavers, loaders, and excavators.
Diagnose and service mechanical and electronic systems, including air brakes and transmissions.
Conduct routine checks and adjustments on fluid levels, hoses, belts, and tires.
Repair or replace defective parts using hand and power tools.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely repairs.
Work in a safe manner, complying with all safety policies.
Other opportunities as they arise.
Hours and Schedule

Peak Season (March-October): Monday to Friday, and every second Saturday. 10 hour shifts.
Off Season (November-March): Monday to Friday, 8 hour shifts.
Work is completed in a mix of shop settings and occasional field work which is located nearby Grande Prairie. Most field work is completed in the day, not requiring overnight trips away from home.
Qualifications

High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician or Red Seal
Class 5 Drivers License
Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements
