Food Truck Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Food Truck assistant to join our team. This role mostly consists of managing transactions, and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced mobile food environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, strong customer service skills, and enthusiasm when serving our guests. The ability to keep calm under pressure is a must for busy days.

this is, for now, a part time seasonal position, with hours fluctuating greatly, dependant on business, events, and cross province travel, with the hope of this becoming a full time position.

Responsibilities

Operate POS systems for accurate order processing and cash handling
Serve guests with professionalism, and enthusiasm ensuring a positive dining experience
Manage cash transactions accurately and handle cash with integrity
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the food truck, including food handling and kitchen areas
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards
Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly
Assist in inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
Ability to travel with the food truck for multiple days (approximately 5-6 multi-day trips throughout the season)
Skills

Proven experience in food preparation and food service environments
Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
Knowledge of food handling, safety, and sanitation procedures in the food industry
Ability to perform basic math for cash handling and order calculations
Excellent time management skills to handle high-volume periods smoothly
Restaurant or serving experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
