Overview
Job Title: Project Controls Specialist (Rotational)
Location: Project Site-Based, Newfoundland & Labrador
Schedule: Rotational (e.g., 14 Days On / 14 Days Off)
Sector: Heavy Civil
Brook Construction is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to join our site-based team in Newfoundland & Labrador. This is a rotational position designed for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced, industrial construction environment.
The qualified individual will be responsible for schedules, costs control, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Integrated Scheduling: Build and maintain resource-loaded schedules (Primavera P6); monitor the critical path.
Cost Management: Track field productivity, manage change orders, and perform accruals and forecasting to prevent budget overruns.
Progress Verification: Perform regular site walk-downs to validate "boots on the ground" progress against the baseline.
Reporting: Prepare weekly and monthly project status reports for both internal leadership and client stakeholders.
Risk Mitigation: Identify potential cost and schedule risks early and work with the Project Manager to develop mitigation strategies.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: 3–7 years in Project Controls, specifically within heavy industrial or remote construction projects.
Education: Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
Technical Skills: Expert-level Primavera P6 and Excel.
Rotational Readiness: Ability to work a rotational schedule, including 10–12 hour shifts while on-site.
Certifications: PMP or CCP (AACE) designation is preferred but not required.
